A preparatory meeting was held at the conference room of Rangpur Deputy Commissioner office on Tuesday to celebrate the upcoming first day of the first month of Bengali New Year ‘Pohela Boishakh- 1432 organized by district administration.  This year the Pohela Boishakh will be held on 23 March 2025.

  Under the chairmanship of the Deputy Commissioner of Rangpur Mohammad Rabiul Faysal a huge number of Institutional Heads including cultural activists, leaders of some political parties and leaders of Anti-discrimination Student Movement attended the meeting.

The meeting was started by the welcoming speech of the Deputy Commissioner of Rangpur Mohammad Rabiul Foysal. He thanked the participants cordially and presented the main theme to celebrate the upcoming ‘Pohela Boishakh.’ He said that this year the ‘Pohela Boishakh’ has come to us in a different perspective. So, he emphasized to make the events of ‘Pohela Boishakh’ all-embracing. He collected some suggestions from the participants on how to celebrate the ‘Pohela Boishakh’ in a betting manner. After the discussion it is decided that the students, cultural activists and other participants who will welcome the Bengali New Year-1432 will gather at the premises of Rangpur Zilla School. After the gathering at Rangpur Zilla School premises, all the participants will go out to encircle the main roads of Rangpur City led by higher officials of district administration carrying colorful banners, festoons, balloons and so on. Finally, this colorful rally will end at Rangpur Town Hall Chattar.  

It is necessary to say that various cultural organizations of Rangpur will hold various cultural functions for 3 days to celebrate the ‘Pohela Boishakh’at ‘Rangpur Town Hall Chattar.’
