Pahela Baishakh celebrated in Goalando with colourful arrangements

A day-long Pahela Baishakh celebration was held at Rajbari Goalando in a colourful manner. Mangal procession was brought out with nearly defunct palanquins and horse-drawn carriages.
The mayor of Goalando municipality and president of the Awami League organized the Goalando Pahela Baisakh celebration board on Sunday at 10 a.m.
Nazrul Islam Mandal inaugurated the Baishakh program by blowing balloons. At this time, the convener of Pahela Baisakh Celebration Board.
Chairman of Goalando Upazila Parishad and President of Upazila Awami League were also present under the chairmanship of Yunus Molla. Mustafa Munshi, Upazila Executive Officer Joti Bikas Chandra, Goalando Ghat police station officer in-charge Pranbandhu Chandra Biswas, Upazila Awami League General Secretary Biplab Ghosh, President of Bazar Bishari Parishad. Abul Kalam Azad along with other leaders of Upazila Awami League and allied organizations, leaders of various social organizations etc.
After the inauguration, a colorful Mars procession left Goalando Government Shaheed Smriti Girls High School, went around Dhaka-Khulna highway via Goalando Bazar and ended at the same place.
At the end of the procession, the melodious cultural programme started with the voices of local artists and continued till evening.
