STM Fakhr Uddin, President of Osmaninagar Upazila BNP, and Abdullah Misbah, General Secretary, have alleged that propaganda is being spread to tarnish the image of the party.

 They made this allegation to journalists of Osmaninagar and Bishwanath at a press conference held on Saturday  afternoon at a community center in the Rashidpur area.

In a written statement, they said that recently, some unknown individuals forged the seal and signatures of the president and general secretary of Osmaninagar BNP and submitted a written letter to South Surma Police Station seeking exemption of an accused from a case. After the matter came to their attention, they informed the police station in writing about the forgery. However, a group continues to carry out propaganda. They also alleged that a media outlet has published news quoting the forged letter, and their statements have been misrepresented in the published report.

The leaders said that Osmaninagar–Bishwanath BNP is the well-cultivated garden of people’s leader M Ilyas Ali. A conspiratorial clique is now engaged in various propaganda activities and making objectionable remarks through various media and social networking sites to destroy this well-maintained garden. The conspirators are trying to gather using the name of BNP and are attempting to mislead the party members. They urged everyone not to be misled by this propaganda.

In response to a journalist’s question, they said that expelled members of the party are involved in the propaganda. If limits are crossed, they will be compelled to take legal action.
They also demanded the return of missing people’s leader M Ilyas Ali to the public.

The written statement at the press conference was read by STM Fakhr Uddin, President of Osmaninagar Upazila BNP. Present at the time were Gaus Ali, Acting President of Bishwanath Upazila BNP, Abdul Hai, President of Bishwanath Municipal BNP, Abdullah Misbah, General Secretary of Osmaninagar Upazila BNP, and leaders of BNP and its affiliated organizations from Osmaninagar and Bishwanath.
