Online GD service launched in all police stations of Kushtia to bring police services to door step

Belal Hossain, Kushtia

The online General Diary (GD) service has been launched simultaneously across all police stations in Kushtia district.

The service was officially inaugurated by Kushtia Superintendent of Police Md. Mizanur Rahman at 12:01 AM on Sunday night.

From now on, citizens of the district can file general diaries from home using their mobile phones. The service can be accessed simply by downloading the ‘Online GD’ app from the Google Play Store and registering once.

Superintendent of Police Mizanur Rahman said,  “To ensure public safety, we are not only active in the field but also advancing in technology. Online GD is a significant milestone in that journey. This has been a long-standing demand of the people.”

With this initiative, cases of theft, fraud, lost documents, or missing persons can now be recorded easily online. Previously, individuals had to wait for hours at police stations to file such reports, but this hassle will now be eliminated.

According to the Police Media Cell in Kushtia, this step towards digitalizing police services is a major milestone in implementing the vision of a “Smart Bangladesh.”

One service recipient said, “I used to be afraid to go to the police station. Now, being able to file a GD from home is truly a big change.”

Officials said,  the online GD service will not only enhance citizen protection but also make police investigations more modern and effective.
