One killed in road accident in Hathazari

An autorickshaw driver named Shahadat Hossain (40) died in a head-on collision between a CNG-powered autorickshaw and a pick-up at Hathazari in Chattogram. The accident took place on the Hathazari-Nazirhat regional highway at a place called Muhurihat Battal of No. 3 Mirzapur Union at 4 pm on Wednesday (December 11). Two passengers of the CNG autorickshaw were also injured in the incident. The deceased, the father of two daughters, is the son of deceased Azizul Haque Chowdhury of Haroon Chairman Bari of Enayetpur village of Ward No. 8 of Shahadat Dhali Union.
According to local and police sources, the autorickshaw driver Shahadat was seriously injured when a Nazirhat-bound pickup (Chattametto Th-51-0841) collided head-on with a Nagar-bound CNG (Chittagram Th-12-1397) on Wednesday afternoon. Later, the nearby people rushed to rescue the injured and took him to Hathazari Upazila Health Complex, where the doctor on duty declared him dead. On receiving the information, police went to Nazirhat Highway Police Station and impounded the two cars involved in the accident.
Nabila, a doctor on duty at the emergency department of Hathazari Upazila Health Complex, said that a person died in a road accident before being brought to the emergency department.
Hathazari Model Police Station Officer-in-Charge OC Abu Kawsar Mahmud Hossain said that he confirmed the fact that one person was killed in a road accident.
