
Nuhash’s ‘Pett Kata Shaw’ wins award at Raindance Film Festival

Nuhash Humayun’s acclaimed web series ‘Pett Kata Shaw’ has won the ‘Best International Feature’ at Raindance Film Festival, UK.
Nuhash shared the happy news through a post on his Facebook page on Friday night. “What a historic win. ‘Pett Kata Shaw’ wins the top prize at Raindance, Best International Feature. Thank you to my crew, my cast, my family for being on this journey. Proud to share this landmark moment for Bangladeshi streaming/series. We’re not making ‘content’ - we are making history”, the post reads.
The 11-day festival concluded on Saturday. The winners were announced from the festival’s Instagram post. Nuhash’s directorial project was screened on 31 October.
‘Pett Kata Shaw’ is a horror web series, written and directed by Nuhash Humayun. The series was released on OTT platform Chorki. ‘Pett Kata Shaw’ is a modern retelling of the most shadowy and sensational scenes of traditional Bengali folktales passed down from generation to generation.
Actors Afzal Hossain, Chanchal Chowdhury, Sohel Mondol, Shirin Akter Shila, Pritom Hasan, Novera Rahman and others played different roles in the series. The web series comprises of four episodes— ‘Ei Building E Meye Nishedh’, ‘Mishti Kichhu’, ‘Lokey Bole’ and ‘Nishir Daak’.
Nuhash has achieved a number of international awards for the web series. The Chorki original web project released its first episode on 7 April.
