NPC ready to field candidates for 300 seats : Sarjis

Rangpur Bureau

In response to questions from journalists after Friday prayers at Keramatia Mosque in Rangpur city, Jatiya Nagorik Party's northern regional Chief Organizer Sarjis Alam said that Jatiya Nagorik Party (NCP) is ready to field candidates for 300 seats. He said, for the past one era, politics was no longer the politics of the masses. Politics was buying nominations with money and getting elected to parliament through rigging at night. If we can keep the bloody bodies of July and August in front of us, then we will never stray from the spirit of the July 24 uprising. He told these things to journalists after Friday prayers at Keramatia Mosque in Rangpur on Friday afternoon.Sarjis Alam said, “India-Bangladesh relations should be based on respect and equality. We have been feeling dominance for the past one era. We will no longer be blinded by the dominance of any country. I think that Bangladesh will have an equal relationship with any country, be it India, China, America, or Russia. We will move forward on the basis of mutual respect. The European Union consists of 28 to 29 countries functioning together. Each country will have intra-country and inter-regional exchange relations. They will use the country's ports to develop trade and commerce. But these must be based on equality. There must be a relationship of mutual respect between countries.”He said that if the National Citizen Party can work according to the people's wishes, then the people will take their verdict to the parliament. He said that the National Citizen Party is ready to take on the challenge of nominating candidates for 300 seats in the national parliament elections. We are used to taking on such challenges. The National Citizen Party has been manifesting itself for a month now. We will try our best to nominate honest, qualified and patriotic candidates. Earlier, politics was about buying nominations with money, getting elected in the dark of night through rigging and going to parliament. This time the people will get their voting rights back, we want to go to the parliament to represent the people by being elected through direct votes of the people. As the organizational team of the Jatiya Nagorik Party northern region, we will go to the 32 districts we have been responsible for. We think that politics has not been the politics of the people for the past decade. We will go to the people in the fields, ghats, alleys and streets, we will present to them what we want to do and the expectations we have for Bangladesh.Asked what the NCP committee will be like, Sarjis Alam said, we have started organizational activities from today. We will go into the committee formation process within a week. You will be able to see the district and upazila committees in April. We have numerous well-wishers in the district and upazila. Those who think that these youth have led the country's uprising and have the skills to lead the district and upazila. This leadership will depend on the youth, but the elders will definitely be there. Those who have the ability, skills and honesty will come to the leadership position in that area. We need the courage, enthusiasm and determination of the youth to move forward. The advice and experience of the elders are very necessary for us to move forward. The elders and the youth will work together.

Asked about the Rangpur budget, Sarjis told reporters that in the past 16 years, all types of budgets and facilities were region-based, and although the southern region always got priority, the people of North Bengal have been discriminated against. Later, he took part in the exchange of views of the Rangpur committee to accelerate the party's organizational activities. At that time, Imran Ahmed, district convener of the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement, Imtiaz Imti, metropolitan convener and member Secretary Rahmat Ali were present among others.
