The nomination papers for Laxmipur-1 and Laxmipur-2 constituencies in the 12th National Assembly elections were verified on Sunday by the Returning Officer and Laxmipur Deputy Commissioner.

As a loan defaulter, independent candidate and Central Jubo League Presidium Member Habi's two voters expressed disqualification and Tarikat Federation of the same seat as no voter supported the nomination of independent candidate Farooq Hossain.

On the other hand, Laxmipur-2 Constituency (Raipur-Sadar Partial) independent candidate AF Jasim Uddin has no signature on one page of the nomination paper and wrong number in the voter list, disqualification in support of 2 voters and Kalyan Pati candidate Farhad Mia's nomination paper has been canceled due to not filling the form correctly. is

Apart from this, the nomination papers of Zaheer Hossain and independent candidate and former MP Kazi Shahid Islam Papul's wife Selina Islam have been suspended. A leader of the Awami League who was present complained that the ACC has a case against that candidate. Zahir Hossain's income tax certificate was suspended for not being filed. Later, the returning officer asked the notary public to submit the proof of complaint by afternoon. Because of this, his nomination papers have been suspended.

Deputy Commissioner and Returning Officer Suraiya Jahan said that those whose candidatures have been canceled can appeal to the Election Commission with the necessary documents by December 9.
