In the first phase of the 6th Upazila Parishad elections, 23 upazila chairmen and vice chairmen of Rajshahi Division have taken oath. Divisional Commissioner Dr. Dewan Muhammad Humayun Kabir administered the oath to the newly elected public representatives at the District Art Academy Auditorium on Monday afternoon.

Congratulating the newly elected public representatives at the oath ceremony, the Divisional Commissioner said that you have been elected through a free, fair and universally acceptable election. You have suffered a lot, gone door to door to the voters and got elected with a lot of aspirations through a lot of challenges. Now you have many responsibilities. That responsibility is to fulfill the promises made to the voters and the people. It requires a good plan.

Humayun Kabir said, public representatives build a society or a nation on the basis of overall competence, wisdom and foresight. Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has taken our country from an underdeveloped country to a role model of development, but the people's representatives are the key artisans. We will only perform secretarial duties with you.

He said, to build Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman's golden Bengal, we must first create golden people. Do not hold grudges against your opponent. All will work together with fairness. At this time, he urged everyone to work together to build the Prime Minister's goal of Smart Bangladesh by harnessing the power of youth.
