The population of the country is increasing at a geometric rate, along with it the environmental degradation is increasing. If we want to save the country from this calamity, a lot of tree plantation is needed. With this aim, ‘Mission Green Bangladesh’ and popular content creator on travel and environmental issue ‘Go with Ashraful Alam’ organized Nature Photo Contest 2024.

10 people will get a day-long nature trip to Sreemangal and 50 people will get an attractive polo shirt if they take a photo during tree planting and post it on Facebook with hashtags #MissionGreenBangladesh and #GowithAshrafulAlam. When asked about tree planting and competition, Mission Green Bangladesh convener Ahsan Roni said that trees can be planted indoors, balcony, rooftop, outside the house or anywhere. He also said that one photo can be given in each post. However, if many trees are planted, separate posts can be given for each tree. Best winner will be selected based on comments and reacts. Any friends can be tagged/mentioned and that will also be considered as a comment.

Ashraful Alam, Content Creator of ‘Go with Ashraful Alam’ platform said, “Planting trees has many benefits and that is why we have taken this initiative to fix the endangered environment. Basically we should do this kind of small work for ourselves because we take the oxygen from nature for free. We should supply our own oxygen even to meet the responsibility of survival.

Incidentally, if we consider the financial value of the material and services that a tree provides in an average of fifty years, it will be around forty lakh taka. A tree provides the equivalent of ten AC’s of cooling in a year, absorbs 750 gallons of rainwater, absorbs 60 pounds of harmful gases from the air. One hectare of green land plants take in an average of 900 kg of carbon dioxide and release 650 kg of pure oxygen into nature per day during photosynthesis. Trees also reduce the temperature of the weather, increase humidity in the air and prevent soil erosion. So there is no alternative to planting trees to protect the environment.
