Natore BNP convenor Bachchu hacked, ex-mayor Bulbul injured on way to rally

Natore BNP convenor Md Shahidul Islam Bachchu was hacked by 'Awami League men' while going to join the party's pre-scheduled rally for Chairperson Khaleda Zia's unconditional release.
BNP-bacled Rajshahi City Corporation (RCC) former mayor Mosaddek Hossain Bulbul and six others were also injured as the attackers exploded cocktails and opened fire on them.
District BNP members secretary Rahim Newaz and joint secretary Farhad Ali Dewan Shahin claimed that the supporters of local Awmi League lawmaker attacked the BNP leaders and activists at about 9:30am. They were going to join a rally with small procession as part of the central programme. Shahidul Islam Bachchu was hacked and beat up in front of Natore Government High School on his way to to BNP office.
Locals rescued him and took to Natore Sadar Hospital. Later he was shifted to to Rajshahi Medical College Hospital in critical condition.
Subsequently, ruling party supporters attacked on the rally and blasted cocktails, leaving Mosaddek Hossain Bulbul and six others injured, he added.
Denying the allegation, district Awami League general secretary Shariful Islam Ramjan said that the attackers are not Jubo League.
