National Revolution and Solidarity Day-2026 Observed at BARI with Various Programmes Day Celebrated in the Spirit of National Unity, Solidarity and Patriotism

The Bangladesh Agricultural Research Institute (BARI) observed National Revolution and Solidarity Day-2026 on November 7 through various programmes with due dignity and solemnity.
On this day in 1975, the combined revolution of soldiers and civilians set a remarkable example of patriotism by thwarting conspiracies against the country's independence and sovereignty. Major General Ziaur Rahman was freed from confinement by the combined efforts of soldiers and civilians and subsequently assumed state leadership. In the following years, he introduced a multiparty democratic system and initiated a new era of development and production in the country.On Saturday morning, BARI Director General Dr. Md. Manjurul Kadir inaugurated the day's programmes by hoisting the national flag.
At a brief discussion session highlighting the significance of the day, the Director General said, "On the occasion of National Revolution and Solidarity Day, November 7, I pay deep tribute to the historic revolution of soldiers and civilians. This day continues to inspire the spirit of national unity and solidarity in safeguarding our national independence, sovereignty and democracy. Let us all work together with a united commitment to achieve food security and prosperity for the country through agricultural research."
Among those present at the programme were BARI Director (Training and Communication) Dr. Reshma Sultana; Director (Tuber Crops Research Centre) Dr. Nirmal Kumar Datta; Director (Planning and Evaluation) Dr. Habib Mohammad Nasir; Director (Service and Supply) Dr. Md. Mosharraf Hossain Molla; Director (Pulse Research Centre) Dr. Md. Abdul Mannan; Director Dr. Moha. Moniruzzaman; and scientists, officers, employees and workers from different levels of the institute.
Later, a special prayer was offered seeking peace, prosperity and progress for the nation. Led by the Director General, a rally was brought out from in front of BARI's head office. The rally paraded through various roads within the Bangladesh Agricultural Research Institute campus.
Additionally, a special prayer was held at BARI Central Mosque after the Zuhr prayer, seeking peace and progress for the country. Special prayers were also arranged at temples and churches in the evening.
