State Minister for Fisheries and Livestock Sultan Salauddin Tuku was the chief guest and Dhaka University Pro-Vice Chancellor (Admin) Prof Dr. Mohammad Almojaddidi Alfesani was the guest of honour and released the pona fish. The program was organized by the Department of Fisheries Science of Dhaka University with the theme “A self-reliant country through silver fisheries, Bangladesh first”.
The program was presided over by the Chairman of the Department of Fisheries, Mohammad Mamun Chowdhury. Acting Director General of the Department of Fisheries, Dr. Md. Khaled Kanak spoke as a special guest. The convener of the program organizing committee, Professor Wahida Haque, delivered the welcome speech. The program was conducted by the lecturer of the department, Rokeya Akhter. Teachers and students of the department were present at the time.
