National Cooperative Day celebrated in Goalando with various events

National Cooperative Day was celebrated at Goalando in Rajbari with the theme "Building a country in cooperation, Bangladesh will be smart".
The 52nd National Cooperative Day-2023 was celebrated on Saturday (November 4) around 10:30 a.m. by hoisting the national flag and cooperative flag, cooperative rally, discussion and distribution of prizes on the occasion of the day organized by the Upazila Administration and Cooperative Department.
After hoisting the flag and the rally, a discussion meeting was held in the upazila meeting hall.
Upazila Executive Officer UNO. Under the chairmanship of Zakir Hossain, Upazila Parishad Female Vice Chairman Nargis Parveen, Upazila BRDB Chairman Hamidul Haque Bablu, Upazila Cooperative Officer Md. Saiful Islam, Second Officer SI Monirul Islam of Goalando Ghat Police Station, former chairman of Upazila BRDB and founder headmaster of Goalando Ideal High School Fakir Abdul Quader, entrepreneur Beauty Akhtar and others were present.
Upazila Youth Development Officer Dewan Tofail Hossain conducted the programme .
The speaker said that in 1972, the father of the nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman introduced the National Cooperative Day in northern Bangladesh. Every year on the first Saturday of November the day is celebrated with due dignity and enthusiasm through various programmes.
He further said that at present the Hon'ble Prime Minister has taken effective steps to uplift the downtrodden and marginalized people of this country by utilizing his cooperative philosophy along with his father's ideals.
