Land Minister Narayon Chandra Chanda has said that land owners have to ensure mutation for paying land tax separately in the case of property having joint ownership.
“The government is committed to combating corruption effectively. Public servants must adhere to these directives. To enhance transparency within the land tax system, local administrations must ensure separate mutation for properties held under joint ownership,” said Narayon Chandra Chanda during the Deputy Commissioner (DC) Conference, where he served as the chief guest on Wednesday.
The land minister informed the DCs that the drafting of the rules for the Land Crime Prevention and Redress Act is at the final stage.
Addressing the programme, the minister further mentioned that cases have already been filed under the Land Crime Prevention and Redress Act in different parts of the country, including Chattogram, within the jurisdiction of the judicial courts.
Cabinet Secretary Mahbub Hossain chaired the session while Land Secretary Khalilur Rahman, Land Appeal Board Chairman AKM Shamimul Haque, Land Reform Board Chairman Md Abdus Sabur Mondol, Director General of Land Record and Survey Department Anis Mahmud were also present on the occasion.
