A thrilling cycle race was held on Friday morning in Sylhet's tea plantations surrounded by green hills and hills.

Mountain cycling is very popular in many countries of the world. This mountain cycling is organized on mountain roads or high hills.

SCC MTB Challenge 2024 Powered by Global Healthcare Cycle Race Competition was held at Malnichhara Tea Garden on Friday morning for the second time in Sylhet organized by Sylhet Cycling Community.

135 racers from all over the country participated in the two categories of the race. 7 racers participated in the women's category. 27 km for men and 17 km for women.

The winner of the men's category was Kawsar Payda, the second was MD Shahid Hossain and the third was MD Jalal and the champion of the women's category was Tabassum and the second was Sanjida Rahman. Apart from the winners, the top ten racers were given cash prizes.

The competition was sponsored by Global Healthcare Center. The judges of the competition were Syed Suhag, Mamunur Rahman, Nusrat Jahan and Mohammad Abdullah.

Dr. Orakatul Jannat, administrator of Sylhet Cycling Community and member of the organizing committee, said, We always want to work with the youth, we want to increase the interest of the youth in sports. Cycling keeps people physically and mentally healthy. It is an international and national level sport we think cyclists can develop themselves through such races so we are trying to increase people's participation in cycling.

Tabassum, who became the champion in the women's category, said that I was able to become the champion in such a beautiful competition inside the tea garden. I feel very good, my confidence has increased through this race I hope I can do something better in the future.

Ehtesham Chowdhury, Head of Marketing Global Healthcare Center was present as a special guest at the closing ceremony. The race was managed by Dr. Orakatul Jannat, Syed Suhag, Hasan Ahmed, Administrator of Sylhet Cycling Community were in charge of the various stages of the race. Also members of the organizing committee are Faiz Zaman, Mahmudur Rahman Mitul, Kamrul Islam and Saiful Islam.
