MP Babar inaugurates Panchuria Bridge, sends message of hope for dev

Gopalganj-2 MP Dr. KM Babar said that no ongoing development project in Gopalganj will be stopped. The government is providing special allocation to continue development activities and the process of approving an allocation of about 3.5 billion taka for the district is underway.
He made these remarks while speaking as the chief guest at the inauguration ceremony of the Panchuria Bridge under construction over the Panchuria Canal in Gopalganj city on Thursday.
The MP said that new development projects will be taken up to deliver services to the doorsteps of the people. He said that initiatives have been taken to accelerate the development activities of Gopalganj in consultation with the Prime Minister and the Ministry of Local Government.
He further said, as an elected public representative, he is going to the common people and listening to their problems and needs.
Gopalganj Road Department Executive Engineer Jahangir Alam, Sub-Divisional Engineer Anuj Kumar Mondal, Sadar Upazila BNP President Sikder Shahidul Islam Lelin, District BNP Convening Committee members Azizur Rahman Beno and Ziaul Kabir Biplob, BNP leader Mahabub Ali Sohel, former District Chhatra Dal General Secretary Saiful Islam and local leaders and activists were present at the event.
According to Gopalganj Road Department sources, the length of the bridge to be built over the Panchuria Canal is 25.74 meters and the width is 13.25 meters. The cost of building the bridge has been estimated at around 74 million taka. Once the construction work is completed, it will facilitate the transportation of people in Gopalganj city and surrounding areas.
