Four people were killed in a road accident in Debiganj of Panchagarh. Two others were seriously injured in the incident.

The accident took place on Thursday afternoon on Sonahar Debiganj road in the new port area of Debiganj municipal headquarters. Locals are rescuing the injured in the road accident.

The deceased are Kauser Ali (16) son of Bacher Ali of Lohagara Supri Tala area of Dandpal Union of Debiganj Upazila, Sabbir (17) son of Yakub Ali of the same area, Sabbir (22) son of Majnur of Khan Para area of Debiganj Sadar Union and Barkat (18) son of Hazrat Ali. .

According to local sources, on the day of Eid, at around one in the afternoon, three teenagers were coming from Khan Para to Debiganj on two motorcycles and three teenagers on another motorcycle left for Nilsagar from Lohagar in Kaliganj. On the way, two motorcycles collided head-on while giving a side to a van on Debiganj Sonahar road in the new port area.

Locals rescued six seriously injured people and brought them to Debiganj Upazila Health Complex. A man named Kausar Ali died during the first aid. Others were sent to Rangpur Medical College after first aid as their condition was critical. Sabbir died on the way to Rangpur and two others Sabbir (17) and Barkat died while undergoing treatment at Rangpur Medical College.

Confirming the death of Sabbir while undergoing treatment at Rangpur Medical, his cousin Monir said that Sabbir was taken to Rangpur with serious injuries in a road accident and died there. His body is being brought home.

Meanwhile, Barkat, Zakaria and Sohail are undergoing treatment for injuries in the hospital. However, Barakat's condition is said to be critical.

Debiganj police station OC Sarkar Iftekharul Mokaddem said, so far we have officially confirmed the death of two people. The body has been handed over to the family.

A case will be filed in this regard.
