A month-long textile and cottage industry fair has been inaugurated on the occasion of the 21st anniversary of the Women Entrepreneurs Association of Bangladesh (WEB) Rajshahi branch.

The month-long fair was inaugurated by the President of the Women Entrepreneurs Association of Bangladesh (WEB) Rajshahi branch, Ms. Anjaman Ara Parveen Lipi, on Wednesday at the Baneshwar Govt College ground in Puthia upazila of Rajshahi.

Puthia UNO AKM Nur Hossain Nirjhar inaugurated the month-long fair as chief guest by releasing balloon festoons and cutting coloured ribbons.

Baneshwar Government College Principal (Acting) Md. Masud Rana presided over and WEB General Secretary Md. Fatesa Akhter, Executive Member Satta Khatun, Executive Member Rupa Mostafa, Publicity Secretary Moushumi Akhter, Baneshwar Bazar Businessmen Association member Mizanur Rahman Mizan, Saiful Islam and youth leader Biplob Sardar were present.

The fair has 40 stalls including crockery, food, woven fabrics, garments, variety items, gift corner, cookery, three-piece, toys and a scooter showroom. The fair premises are open to everyone from 10 am to 9 pm every day.

After the inauguration, Entrepreneur President Md. Anjaman Ara Parveen Lipi said that organizing such fairs plays a very important role in encouraging small entrepreneurs. This fair will attract the attention of buyers ahead of the upcoming Eid-ul-Fitr. He said that such initiatives should be continued to keep the economic activities of Baneshwar Bazar active and sought everyone's cooperation.

Such initiatives play a special role in creating opportunities for women entrepreneurs. As a result, the market for their products expands. Small entrepreneurs play a role not only in their own but also in the overall economic development of the country.
