Meeting with State Minister Mohib : France wants to help install lightning protection devices

State Minister for Disaster Management and Relief Mohibbur Rahman on Monday said that an effective programme will be taken to build a management structure including installation of lightning protection devices.
France wants to help Bangladesh to exchange technical know-how, install lightning protection devices, build infrastructure and provide training on lightning prevention.
He said this after meeting with the Ambassador of France to Bangladesh, Marie Masdupe at his office, and the ambassador expressed her interest in an informal meeting.
At that time, the state minister said that effective programmes will be taken to build a management structure in this regard, including the installation of lightning protection devices.
The government is working to reduce the damage and loss of life due to lightning through the use of modern technology, he said, adding that since the number of deaths due to lightning has increased recently, public awareness should also be increased.
Mohibbur Rahman said that steps are being taken to make lightning protection technology affordable and widespread and to exchange and transfer technology with the international world.
