Mayors Khalek and Liton given state minister status

Khulna City Corporation Mayor Talukder Abdul Khaleque and Rajshahi City Corporation Mayor AHM Khairuzzaman Liton have been given the status of state ministers.
The Cabinet division issued a notification on Tuesday giving the status of a state minister to these two public representatives.
Although Talukder Khaleque and Liton got the status of state ministers, their honorarium and other benefits will be determined according to the Local Government (City Corporation) Act, 2009.
