Man jailed for life for rape of 5-yr-old girl in Jhenaidah

A court in Jhenaidah has sentenced a man to life term imprisonment for raping a 5-year-old girl in Shailkupa upazila.
District Women and Children Repression Prevention Tribunal Judge Md Mizanur Rahman passed the verdict on Wednesday.
The court also fined the convict Tk 1 lakh, in default, to serve four months rigorous imprisonment.
The convict was Tarikul Joaddar alias MP, son of Late of Mendai Joaddar of Khudra Rayeda village.
According to the prosecution, on February 7, 2021, Tarikul violated 5-year-old girl of Boira village.
After being informed by the victim, paternal uncle as a plaintiff filed a case against Tarikul with the Shailkupa Police Station.
