Main Eid congregation held at National Eidgah

The main congregation of prayers for Eid-ul-Azha has been held at the National Eidgah adjacent to the High Court with President Mohammed Shahabuddin and Chief Justice Obaidul Hassan joining the prayers.
Cabinet members, lawmakers, politicians and diplomats also took part in the congregation, held at 7.30am Monday, alongside Muslims from all walks of life.
Baitul Mukarram's Khatib Maulana Mohammad Ruhul Amin led the congregation of at least 35,000 Muslim devotees.
The day's first congregation in capital was held at Baitul Mukarram mosque was held at 7am with Pesh Imam Hafez Maulana Ehsanul Haq leading the prayers. Thousands of people took part in the first congregation.
Like in every year, the National Mosque would host in total five congregations on its premises today.
The second congregation was held at 8am where Pesh Imam Maulana Muhiuddin Ahmed led the prayers. The next three congregations would be held at 9am, 10am and 10.45am.
A congregation was also held at 8am at the National Parliament's South Plaza. Chief whip, whips, cabinet members, lawmakers, parliament staff and other Muslims took part in the prayers.
A congregation was also held at 8am at the University of Dhaka Central Mosque. Another congregation has been scheduled at 9am.
In total, today the capital would host congregations at 184 prayer grounds (eidgahs) and over 1.5 thousand mosques across the city.
