Maha requires market control of commodity before Ramadan
Dr. Mohammed Mahtab Hossain Mazed
The month of Ramadan is a sacred month for the Muslim world. This month, devout Muslims pursued Siam and tried to get closer to the Creator. At this time, people collect and use essential food items, along with worship and self-restraint. However, the month of Ramadan is actually a familiar and long -term problem in the market. It is very important to solve this problem and establish market control. Because it not only protects the interests of consumers, but also helps to maintain the overall economic balance of society.
> Increase the importance of Ramadan and the demand for essential products
During the month of Ramadan, the demand for essential commodities increases more than normal. In particular, the demand for products like sugar, flour, rice, pulses, edible oils, pomegranates, dates, meat, milk, and eggs increases several times during Ramadan. Special diet is created for Iftar and Sehri, which is one of the reasons for this demand.
However, with the opportunity of this increased demand, unscrupulous businessmen and middlemen created artificial crisis of products in the market for extra profit. This increases the price of the product abnormally. Middle and lower income people are most affected in this situation. As a result, it is absolutely important to control the market for commodities.
> Causes of problems in market control
During the month of Ramadan, there are various reasons behind the failure of controlling the market. Some of these are the main reasons:
1. Consumers of unscrupulous traders: Many traders are stored before Ramadan and create artificial crisis in the market. As a result, the supply is reduced according to demand and the price increases.
2. Weak Market Surveillance: The responsible companies of the market monitoring fail to conduct proper activities properly. This is why unscrupulous businessmen take advantage of the opportunity.
3. Weakness of Supply Chain: If the supply system is not effective, the product is delayed in the market. As a result, there is an imbalance between demand and supply.
3. Lack of awareness: Lack of awareness among buyers is also one of the reasons for the rise. Many times consumers buy additional products of need, which affects the increase in demand.
›To do in the market control
The government and the concerned authorities have to take multiple steps to control the market for the commodities. Some effective solutions below are discussed:
1. To strengthen the market supervision:
Regular monitoring is an important way to control the price of the product in the market. It is possible to identify the use of unscrupulous traders. The government and the local administration will have to take regular market inspection and take strict action against illegal reserves.
2. To ensure adequate product supply:
The supply chain must be strengthened. The whole process from the product to the consumer should be transparent and effective. If necessary, the government can directly import goods to the market by importing it directly.
3. Price Determination and Campaign:
The highest retail price of each product from the government agency has to be promoted. Shopkeepers have to be forced to comply with this price.
3. Disciplinary measures against storage:
The unscrupulous traders created the crisis by storing goods around Ramadan. It is necessary to implement the provisions of severe punishment against them.
3. Increase the awareness of buyers:
Consumers need to be motivated and encouraged to buy the product as needed. This message can be broadcast through the media, social media and local community.
3. Increase the activities of TCB:
Trading Corporation of Bangladesh (TCB) will have to expand the sale of products at affordable prices. This program can be extremely effective, especially for low income people.
3. Introduction to the local administration:
Local level administration and public representatives have to come forward to monitor the market situation and solve the problems.
> Positive impact on market control during Ramadan
Consumers' interests can be protected by controlling the market for commodities. It helps in establishing social justice. If the market is controlled, the purchasing power of low and middle income people is intact and they can worship Ramadan properly.
If there is stability in the market, the overall economy has a positive impact. The demand and supply of the product is balanced, which ensures the economic stability of the country in the long run.
Finally, in Ramadan, the market control of the commodities is not only an economic need, it is also a moral responsibility. The government, administration and business organizations need integrated efforts to protect the general public from the hands of unscrupulous businessmen. Besides, it is possible to keep the market stable through consumers' awareness and responsible use. We all have to work together to protect the sanctity of Ramadan. This initiative can only ensure a fair market and ensure a peaceful and well -organized Ramadan for all.
