On the occasion of the 26th anniversary of the Chittagong Hill Tracts Peace Agreement, a colourful rally was held by Longadu Sena Zone (Tejaswi Bir) of Rangamati.

On Saturday (December 2) morning, a colorful rally left the premises of the upazila's girls' high school, circled the main road and arrived at the Sheikh Russell Mini Stadium for a peace rally.

Chairman of Longadu Upazila Parishad Abdul Barek Sarkar presided over the peace rally as the chief guest, Longadu Zone Captain Lt. Colonel Himel Miah, PSC.

Chief guest Himel Miah said that through the peace agreement, we people of all communities in the hills have forgotten the discrimination and are working shoulder to shoulder with the country's soil for the development of the country. Bangladesh Army is always trying to deal with any kind of untoward incident in the hills.

He also said, if we live together in the area, Longadu will be one of the model upazilas. If the areas where development is being achieved including fisheries, agriculture and climate are properly utilized, there will be progress in massive development.

Longadu Upazila Parishad Vice Chairman Mir Sirajul Islam Chowdhury spoke as a special guest, Upazila Awami League President Md. Salim, Longadu Sadar UP Chairman Bikram Chakma Boli, Adviser of Press Club. Ekhlach Mia Khan and others.

Also, on the occasion of the anniversary of the peace agreement, a boat race will be held at Maini Canal at 3 pm and a wonderful cultural program will be held at Zone Sadar in the evening.
