Locomaster, 4 others injured in head-on collision between two trains in Gazipur

A passenger and oil train collided at Joydevpur Junction Outer Signal (Kazibari) area of Gazipur.
At least 4 people including the locomaster (train driver) were injured
A Dhaka-bound Tangail commuter and an oil train collided on the Dhaka-Tangail line at 11:15 a.m. on Friday.
Joydevpur Railway Station Master Hanif Mia said that there was a collision between Dhaka-bound Tangail commuter and oil train on the Dhaka-Tangail line in Outer Signal (Kazibari) area of Joydevpur. 5 coaches of the passenger train were derailed.
There were not many passengers in the Tangail commuter train. The train was going to the wash pit towards Dhaka. At that time there was a head-on collision with an oil train standing on the same line. The Locomaster of Tangail Commuter was seriously injured. He was sent to Gazipur Shaheed Tajuddin Ahmad Medical College Hospital.
Eyewitnesses said that the Tangail commuter train was heading towards Dhaka via Gazipur after leaving North Bengal. When the train reached the outer signal of Joydevpur station, there was a head-on collision with the oil train leaving from Dhaka.
A few compartments of the Tangail Commuter were crushed. But there were not many passengers on the Tangail Commuter.
According to the emergency department of Gazipur Shaheed Tajuddin Ahmad Medical College Hospital, three people injured in the train accident have been admitted to the hospital.
After this incident, Deputy Commissioner of Gazipur Abul Fate Mohammad Safiqul Islam visited the scene. He said that four people injured in the incident were taken to Gazipur Shaheed Tajuddin Ahmad Medical College Hospital. Trying to find out why this happened.
