The protest rally held at Ambarkhana Point in the on Wednesday (December 13) organized by the Sylhet district branch of the Left Democratic Alliance as part of the nationwide central program demanding the cancellation of the unilateral election schedule, the resignation of the government and elections under the supervision of the party-led government, and the demand to reduce the prices of daily commodities including onions.

Sylhet District BSD (Marxist) convener Ujjal Roy addressed the protest rally. under the chairmanship of
CPB General Secretary Khairul Hasan presided over the rally.

BSD (Marxist) district member Sanjoy Kant Das. , Basad District Convener Abu Zafar, Revolutionary Communist League President Siraj Ahmad, Basad Sylhet District Member Zubair Ahmad Chowdhury Sumon, CPB District Member Advocate Niranjan Dash Khokon, Revolutionary Communist League General Secretary Dr. Haridhan Dash also spoke the rally.

The leaders in the protest rally said that the January 7 election has already turned into a farce with 'I and Dummy' candidates. The government's one-sided election will plunge the country into a deep crisis. Contrary to the fundamental spirit of the liberation war and the aspirations of the masses, extreme Awami fascist misrule has been established in the country today. Suppression of opposition political activists, attacks on meetings and gatherings has become a routine matter.

Speakers immediately respected the public opinion and called upon the people to cancel the one-sided election schedule, build a mass movement for the next parliamentary elections under the electoral supervision government and boycott the farcical election on January 7.
