Law, order preparation meeting held in Gopalganj on Durga Puja

A special preparatory meeting was held in Gopalganj on the security of puja mandapams, maintenance of law and order, and overall preparations for the upcoming Sharidya Durga Puja-2026 celebration.
The meeting was organized by the district administration at the 'Swachhta' conference room of the Deputy Commissioner's office on Sunday at 11 am. The meeting was presided over by Deputy Commissioner and District Magistrate Md. Arif-uz-Zaman.
Gopalganj-2 MP Dr. KM Babar was present as the chief guest at the meeting. Superintendent of Police Md. Habibullah, BPM (Services) and District Council Administrator Sharif Rafiquzzaman spoke as special guests.
It was informed in the meeting that special security measures will be taken at every puja mandap in the district to celebrate the main religious festival of the traditional religion, Sharadiya Durga Puja-2026, in a joyful, festive and peaceful atmosphere. The administration and law enforcement agencies will work together to control the law and order situation, maintain traffic management and prevent any kind of unpleasant incident.
Police Superintendent Md. Habibullah said that all the puja mandap in the district will be divided into different categories according to the level of risk and a security zone will be established. During the puja, a sufficient number of uniformed police members and Ansar-VDP members will be deployed at each mandap. In addition, a special team in plain clothes will be on duty to strengthen intelligence surveillance.
The meeting was informed that the Cyber Crime Monitoring Cell of the District Police is active 24 hours a day to prevent rumors, misleading information and provocative campaigns on social media. It was urged not to pay attention to any kind of rumors and contact the nearest police station or the national emergency service 999 and the Gopalganj Police Control Room (01320-100298) in case of emergency.
The speakers at the meeting sought everyone's cooperation in celebrating Durga Puja while maintaining communal harmony, mutual goodwill, and peaceful coexistence.
