With the theme, 'Smart Land Service, Smart Citizens, the week-long 'Land Service Week-2024' inaugural ceremony was held at the Collectorate building premises in the Sylhet city on Saturday .

Divisional Commissioner of Sylhet Abu Ahmed Siddiki NDC inaugurated the event as chief guest while Sylhet deputy commissioner Sheikh Rasel Hasan presided over the Programme.

Director of Sylhet Divisional Environment office Md Amran Hussain, additional divisional commissioner (revenue) Rukon uddin
among others, were present.

Thanking Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina for making Bangladesh Digital and Smart, the chief guest Abu Ahmed Siddique said that the people are now getting benefits from online-based land services due to the digitalization of the country.

Mentioning that government officials at the grassroots level have been working for the well-being of the common people he said, adding that people are now giving land development tax through digital systems without any harassment and bribes.

The Land Service Week-2024 will continue till June 14 at the collectorate building premises alongside all land office premises in the upazila where land service seekers will pay land tax and other government revenue through online after registration.

People will also get more services during the campaign at the land office premises including receiving cheques from mitigated land requisition. The services include E-Namjari, Certified Copies of Khatian, Parcha and other land-related services.

With a view to provide the service of collecting the payment of land development tax through online, online registration, e-registration application, and other land related services will be provided in the land service week.
