BNP leader Akmal Hossain, wife Khadija Khatun and Mofiz Uddin of Bagbati Union of Sadar Upazila have been accused of threatening to kill their younger brother's family due to a land dispute in Sirajganj.

The innocent and helpless people of the area are spending their days in fear due to their torture. The incident took place on Wednesday (April 24) around 8:30 pm in Rangaliaganti West neighborhood of Bagbati Union.

Hakim Hossain lodged a complaint at the Sadar Police Station on Thursday (April 25) morning on behalf of the victim's family seeking safety.

According to the source of the complaint, there was a dispute between the brothers' families regarding the land for a long time.Last (April 24) around 8:30 pm last night (April 24) senior vice-president of Ward 8 BNP Akmal Hossain (42), son of deceased Anwar Hossain of Rangaliaganti village, his wife Mocha: Khadija Begum (35) and Abul Hossain's son Mofiz (38). threatened to kill with indigenous weapons ramada and baton. At one point Alopathari beat Md. Hakim Hossain, the younger son of Anwar Hossain. He ran away to save his life.

At that time, the attackers threatened to kill him and left.The next morning, a complaint was filed in Sadar police station.I have a land dispute with the defendants.Today they will kill me and my family members anywhere and hide my body. I and my family are suffering from insecurity.'

Victim Hakim Hossain said, "My elder brother, BNP leader, terrorist Akmal brought a domestic weapon, Ramada, and beat me up and locked me out of the house due to a land dispute. At that time, if I did not want to leave the house, he hit my head with ramda. As I stood up, the scab hit my toe and started bleeding. Later the locals rescued me and admitted me to the hospital.Currently I am in insecurity with my family.Respecting the law, I urge the administration to quickly arrest these attackers.'

Accused Akmal Hossain said in this regard, our mother performed Umrah Hajj with the brothers' money.Due to that money and land, the two brothers had a fight.The threat of mayhem and death here is completely false and fabricated.

Abdul Hamid's son Manu Sheikh, Anwar Hossain's wife Rakia Khatun and Haji Rezaul Karim's son Samrat Hossain, who were present at the scene of the attack, said that last night Hakim was beaten by his elder brother Akmal Hossain.

At that time, at Hakim's shout, we went and saw 4/5 people including Akmal beating Hamik with ramda and iron.The family members are insecure due to their torture. If the matter is not resolved soon, major incidents can happen anytime. 

OC of Sadar Police Station Sirajul Islam said that a complaint has been received regarding the land.In light of the complaint, the police have been sent to the spot.

The matter will be investigated and legal action will be taken.
