
Lalmonirhat District Jamaat holds protest march, submits memo for 5-point demands

On Sunday, October 12, 2025, a 5-point demand including the implementation of the July Charter and the PR system was held.
At 10 am, a protest march and rally was organized by Lalmonirhat District Jamaat from the Mission More area of the city on Sunday to implement 5-point demands including next election in PR system.
Later, a memorandum was submitted to the Chief Advisor through Lalmonirhat Deputy Commissioner HM Rakib Haider.
The event was presided over by Adv Abu Taher, a member of the Central Majlis-e-Sura and a district Ameer of Lalmonirhat. The event was also attended by Advocate Md. Firoz Haider Lavlu, a district secretary and Jamaat-nominated MP candidate from Aditmari-Kaliganj-2 constituency, Advocate Abdul Baten, a director and former Ameer of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami's Rangpur and Dinajpur regions and a candidate for the chairmanship of Lalmonirhat Sadar Upazila Parishad, Adv Abdul Baten, a former Ameer, Professor Ataur Rahman, a district Nayeb-e-Ameer, Maulana Md. Habibur Rahman, and Hafez Shah Alam, an assistant secretary of the district Jamaat and a candidate for the vice chairmanship of Lalmonirhat Sadar Upazila Parishad, among others.
The speakers urged immediately accepted the 5-point demands including the implementation of the July Charter and the PR system. They also strongly demanded that the next national elections be held on time. District, upazila and union level Jamaat leaders were present in the protest procession and rally.
