Khalid for forgetting differences to forge Muslim unity

Advisor to the Ministry of Religious Affairs Dr. AFM Khalid Hossain has called upon Muslims to forget the differences and remain united for greater interests.
“Let us forget the differences. Give space to all Muslims in our hearts. You remain united. Unity is strength, strength is peace,” the adviser told a gathering.
He was speaking as the chief guest at the 80th Faraizi Movement Waz Mahfil at Bahadurpur Madrasa Darbar of Haji Shariat Ullah at Shibchar Upazila here today.
Referring to the contribution of Hazi Shariat Ullah to spread and promote Islamic norms and ideals in the Bengal, the adviser said, historic Faraizi movement led by Haji Shariat Ullah was forged against the British oppression on farmers.
“Haji Mohammad Shariat Ullah was the first freedom fighter of Bengal and the subcontinent as well,” he added.
The religious affairs adviser said he would talk to the Election Commission so that the Faraizi Movement can get registration as a political party.
Khalid Hossain urged all to work for projecting the the contribution of Hazi Shariat Ullah in the Faraizi movement saying the history of the movement should be included in the graduation and post-graduation syllabuses.
Pir Abdullah Mohammad Hasan, founder of Haji Shariat Ullah's Darbar and renowned Ulemas were present on the occasion.
