
Jubo Dal president arrested while trying to set fire in Thakurgaon

Chowdhury Mahebullah Abu Noor, vice-president of the Central Jubo Dal, was arrested by the police in Thakurgaon while trying to set the car on fire.
He was arrested from Chhotakhochabari area of Thakurgaon Dinajpur highway of Thakurgaon Sadar upazila on Sunday evening. The arrested Chowdhury Mahebullah Abu Noor (51) is the vice-president of Central Jubo Dal and at the same time he is serving as the president of Thakurgaon District Jubo Dal. At the funeral, Mehebullah Abu Noor Chowdhury and others were preparing to set fire to the car with petrol at a place called Khocha Bari on Sunday evening.
At that time the police went and arrested him. The rest fled from the spot. At that time, a cocktail shell, gun powder, two liters of petrol, two lighters along with pieces of jute were seized from him. In this incident, Thakurgaon Police Inspector Rafiqul Islam Sarkar filed a case in Thakurgaon Sadar Police Station mentioning the names of 17 people including Abu Noor.
Other accused in this case are Md Kayes, Nuruzzaman Nuru, Ahidul Islam, Md Rashedul Islam, Sohel Rana, Moniruzzaman Liton, Shariful Islam Sharif, Mostafizur Rahman Shimul, Babu, Farhad, Kamruzzaman, Ali Bakhtiar Ujjal, Zahid Hossain, Masud Rana Dano. , Abdur Hamid, Md. Zafarullah and 40 other unidentified people.
Confirming the arrest, Thakurgaon Sadar Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Firoz Kabir said that he was arrested while trying to set the car on fire. A bag full of petrol and pieces of bricks were found from him. There are several cases against him on various charges including obstruction of police work, sabotage.
