Journalists hold meeting with new UNO in Phulbari

Emphasis has been placed on strengthening coordination between the administration and the media for the overall development of Kurigram's Phulbari Upazila, alleviating public suffering and protecting public interests. These issues came up in a view-sharing meeting between local journalists and the upazila's newly appointed Upazila Executive Officer (UNO) Md. Zahid Hasan.
The meeting was held at 10:30 am on Saturday in the hall of the upazila administration.
At the meeting, journalists highlighted various problems, public suffering and development issues of the upazila. During this time, prevention of drugs and child marriage, problems of long-distance vehicle movement from Phulbari and various issues related to public interest were discussed.
UNO Md. Zahid Hasan assured to take necessary initiatives to solve these problems. He also sought the cooperation of journalists in the development of the upazila and protecting public interest. Journalists also emphasized on highlighting local problems through objective news reporting and maintaining regular communication with the administration.
The meeting was attended by Upazila Agriculture Officer Rafiqul Islam, Project Implementation Officer Sirajdoula, Primary Education Officer Md. Abdul Latif, Press Club Phulbari President Oliur Rahman and General Secretary Shahinur Rahman Shahin, senior journalists Abdul Aziz Majnu and Jahangir Alam, Journalists Unity Council President SM Babul, Phulbari Upazila Press Club President Zakaria Miah and General Secretary Mostafizur Rahman Jahangir, and journalists working in various media outlets in the upazila.
The meeting emphasized the mutual cooperation and responsible role of the administration and the media in alleviating public suffering, protecting public interests, and accelerating development activities.
