Joint forces operation : Arms dealer arrested with firearms, cartridges in Goalando

In the joint operation of Bangladesh Army and Goalando ghat police station in Goalando of Rajbari, one arms dealer was arrested with illegal firearms.
The name of the arrested arms dealer is Md. Momin Sheikh (41). He is the son of Md. Kiamuddin Sheikh of Char Andar Manik village of Chotabhakala Union of Goalando upazila.
On Monday, on the basis of secret information, joint forces conducted a raid at Manik Sheikh's residence and arrested him and recovered weapons.
Among the weapons recovered were an air gun made of iron and wood, a native iron pipe gun and two fresh cartridges.
Goalando Ghat police station OC Mohammad Rakibul Islam confirmed the matter through a press note around 2:30 on Monday.
He said that Goalando ghat Police Station Case No-15, Dated-21/10/2024, Section-19(a) The Arms Act, 1878 has been filed against the arrested accused.
The accused has been sent to the learned district court of Rajbari on Monday with a 7-day remand application for interrogation.
