The police have been warned against filing a rape attempt case against a political leader and a madrasa principal without investigating. Jamaat-e-Islami's Dhaka-1 MP candidate Md. Nazrul Islam issued this warning. He asked the police to take a neutral role and follow the straight path.
Nazrul Islam made the remarks at a street rally after a protest rally to protest the case against Mohammad Ali, secretary of Jamaat-e-Islami's Dhaka Nawabganj branch, on Friday afternoon.
The former central general secretary of Chhatra Shibir said at the roadshow, "We went to the administration in this incident and told them very clearly that if a complaint is filed for any political purpose and if you accept it without investigation, the consequences will not be good. We told the administration that you should not bow down to any injustice. If you do that, we will not accept it. We saw that in the dark of night, a false case was filed against a scholar like Maulana Mohammad Ali in exchange for money at the behest of a group."
Nazrul Islam further said, 'The political arena is calm. Let it remain calm. Otherwise, the consequences will not be good. The false case must be withdrawn immediately. Otherwise, those of you who are involved in this will have to escape through the back door.'
