Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami has provided a cash donation of Tk 10,000 each to the families of the 12 martyrs killed in the July Revolution in Lalmohan and Tajumuddin upazilas last year.
A view-sharing meeting was held on Monday afternoon at the hall of Lalmohan Islamia Kamil Madrasa on the occasion of the donation.
The meeting was chaired by Lalmohan Upazila Jamaat-e-Islami Ameer Maulana Abdul Haque, and the Bhola District Branch Ameer Master Zakir Hossain of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami was present as the chief guest, while Bhola District Secretary Maulana Harun Or Rashid, Joint Secretary Maulana Akhtar Ullah, District Baitul Mal Secretary Belayet Hossain, Lalmohan Islamia Kamil Madrasa Principal Maulana Md. Mosharraf Hossain and others. Nizamul Haque Naeem, the Jamaat-e-Islami candidate from Bhola-3 constituency and General Secretary of Bangladesh Development Party, spoke as the main discussant at the meeting. The program was moderated by Jamaat-e-Islami's Lalmohan Upazila Secretary Maulana Md. Ruhul Amin and others.
The speakers at the meeting said, the July Revolution was an unforgettable chapter in the struggle for democracy, religious freedom and justice in this country. The martyrs sacrificed their lives for this land and Islamic values.
We can never repay the debt of their blood, but it is our religious duty to stand by their families.
At the end of the meeting, 12 families of martyrs killed in Lalmohan and Tajumuddin Upazilas were given 10,000 taka in cash and 43 injured people were given financial assistance. It is worth noting that earlier, Jamaat had given 2 lakh taka in cash to each family of those killed in the July Revolution. The meeting was attended by family members of martyrs killed in the July Revolution, the injured, and leaders and activists of various levels of Jamaat-e-Islami.
