International Women's Day celebrated in Kabirhat

International Women's Day was celebrated in Kabirhat Upazila of Noakhali with the theme: "Today's steps will secure tomorrow's justice."
 
The meeting was held at the Upazila Auditorium under the initiative of Kabirhat Upazila Administration and Women's Affairs Department at 11 am on Sunday. 
 
Under the chairmanship of Upazila Women's Affairs Officer Shamima Akhter, three women activists Rokeya Akhter, Selina Akhter, and Banali Shaha, among the women present, highlighted their history of becoming entrepreneurs in their struggling lives. 
 
The special guest of the program was Kabirhat Police Station SI Shafiqur Rahman, Upazila Assistant Education Officer Bibi Ayesha. The speakers said that almost half of the world's population is women. Development is not possible by keeping women out of the mainstream of state and government politics. Especially if women's economic empowerment is not ensured, the benefits of overall development outside the home are not possible. 
 
The independence proclaimer Shaheed Ziaur Rahman, Mother of Democracy Khaleda Zia, played a groundbreaking role in the economic empowerment of women, half of the population of Bangladesh. At the end of the meeting, patriotic songs were performed by the Kishore Kishore Club.
