The non-governmental development organization ISDE Bangladesh, with the support of the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center of Saudi Arabia, will distribute food packets to 60,000 poor families in Bangladesh, says a press release.

Out of this, 42,000 packets will be distributed to the Rohingya community and 18,000 to the host community in Cox's Bazar. Under ISDE's "Emergency Food Assistance for Rohingya and Host Community in Bangladesh" project, each family will be provided with 10 kg of rice, 7 kg of pulses, 3 liters of soybean oil, 1 kg of sugar and 1 kg of salt.

The food distribution program was inaugurated at an informal ceremony at the Saudi Embassy in Dhaka on Monday. by Ibrahim Alahmari, Deputy Ambassador of the Saudi Embassy, Abdul Rahman Al-Mutairi, Representative of the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center, Nazer Hossain, Vice President of the Central Committee of the CAB and Executive Director of ISDE Bangladesh, and senior officials. Yasir Sheshah, Director of Political and Media Affairs of the Saudi Embassy, moderated the event.

Under the program, food packets were distributed among 1,130 families at T&T Girls High School, Mohakhali Wireless Gate area, 1050, and Pallabi Vidya Niketan (formerly Bangabandhu Niketan), Milk Vita Road, Section -7, Mirpur on March 3, 2026, 1,750 at Silicon Frontier Road 13, Mohammadpur, Sect. Tok, Adabor on March 4, 1,700 at Rayerbazar High School, Rayerbazar, Dhanmondi on March 5. Present at the distribution ceremony of these food packets were Abdul Rahman Al-Mutairi, representative of King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center, SM Nazer Hossain, Vice President of CAB Central Committee and Executive Director of ISDE, Rebecca Saniat, Executive Director of Coalition for Urban Poor (CUP), Aminur Rasul (Babul), Treasurer of BAP and Board Member of Water Development Board, prominent women leader Masuda Faruk Ratna, Director of ADAB AKM Jasim Uddin, ISDE Program Coordinator Md. Jahangir Alam and other officials.
