Indo-Bangla Press Club in Kolkata accords reception to State Minister Mohib

State Minister for Disaster Management and Relief Md. Mohibbur Rahman MP was accorded a reception by Kolkata's Indobangla Press Club.
The reception was held at the elite Spring Club in central Kolkata on Saturday night.
Meanwhile, the State Minister was given a warm greetings by the mentor of Indo-Bangla Press Club and the Editor of online news portal Voice of Kolkata Mr. Deepak Mukherjee.
The director of India's ATN Bangla, News and the mentor of Indo-Bangla Press Club Mr. Tapan Roy, the spokesperson of Indo-Bangla Press Club and Kolkata representative of News 24 Bhaskar Sardar, Lifetime member of Indo-Bangla Press Club, Md. Mohibbur Rahman MP were given northern and honorary crest in the ceremony.
Earlier on Saturday at 6.30 pm, State Minister Mohib was presented the awards as the chief guest at the 6th BFTCC Film and Television Awards Ceremony and 9th Bengal International Short Film Festival organized by the Bengal Film and Television Chamber of Commerce at the traditional Spring Club in central Kolkata. The ceremony started by lighting the lamp. The presence of wife Mohibbur Rahman brightened up the BFTCC awards stage.
In the event, Bangladesh's eminent late film actor Nayak Raj Razzak was presented with the Lifetime Achievement Award.
This year, this prestigious award was given to prominent actor Abul Hayat and prominent actress Anwara Begum of Bangladesh. Director Tathagata Bhowmik's “Termite” was awarded in the Best Short Film category at the 9th Bengal International Short Film Festival. And the second Best Short Film category was awarded to director Pradeep Kurbah's “Path”.
In the Best Documentary category, director Shivam Singh Rajput's film “Ladakh 470” was awarded. And in the second Best Documentary category, director Rajkumar Prajapati Ruchika Negi's film “In Between Us” was awarded. Besides, at the BFTCC Awards 2024, in the film category, Deboki Basu was presented with Lifetime Achievement Award, eminent film director Prabhat Roy was presented with Kalis Mukherjee Lifetime Achievement Award. Eminent film journalist and film critic Chandy Mukherjee received the Hiralal Sen Live Achievement Award this year. And noted playwright and film actor Manoj Mitra, BM Sarkar Life Time Achievement Award and noted producer Poornima Dutta.
Earlier on Friday afternoon, Minister of State for Disaster Md. Mohibbur Rahman spoke as the chief guest at the screening of the film 'Mujib: the making of a Nation' directed by renowned Indian director Shyam Benegal at Nandan, Kolkata's traditional cultural centre. Kolkata educationist and former vice-chancellor of Rabindra Bharati University Professor Pabitra Sarkar, music artist Srikanth Acharya, journalist Sukh Ranjan Das Gupta, Dilip Chakraborty and others were present on the occasion.
Speaking as the chief guest at the event, State Minister Mohib said, 'This film, a symbol of the close friendship between Bangladesh and India, has been made on the occasion of Bangabandhu's birth centenary.
In April 2017, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi jointly announced plans to make a biopic on Bangabandhu's life at a function in Hyderabad, New Delhi. People of Bangladesh will be forever grateful to them for taking such a visionary decision.
The film highlights important chapters of history including Bangabandhu's life of struggle, his upbringing and his participation and leadership in various movements and struggles.
