Implement national budget with transparency : PM to authorities

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, during a cabinet meeting on Monday, instructed the authorities concerned to implement the national budget for the fiscal year 2024-25, ensuring transparency at all levels.
“Prime Minister instructed everyone to pay due attention to implement the national budget with great care, vigilance and transparency,” Cabinet Secretary Md. Mahbub Hossain told reporters during a press conference at his secretariat office in Dhaka this afternoon.
Earlier in the day, the weekly cabinet meeting was held with Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina in the chair at her office.
During the post-meeting press conference, the cabinet secretary said that the prime minister mainly made the call to the ministers and secretaries to implement the budget successfully.
On Sunday, the national budget worth Tk 7,97,000 crore for the fiscal year 2024-25 was passed in parliament, with a primary focus on maintaining economic stability and augmenting steps to realise the government’s ‘Smart Bangladesh” vision.
Despite the global volatile conditions and adversities, the budget for the next fiscal year eyed a 6.75 percent GDP growth while containing inflation within 6.50 percent.
