Illegal transportation of sand in violation of HC ban,14 bulkheads seized in Rajbari

Daulatdia Naval Police outpost seized 14 bulkheads loaded with sand from the Antarmor area of Padma river in Rajbari on Monday afternoon for illegally extracting and transporting sand in defiance of the ban of the High Court.
After the seizure, 14 sand-laden bulkheads were anchored next to the Daulatdia launch ghat.
Daulatdia Naval Police Outpost SI Md. Farid Uddin confirmed this.
He said that 14 bulkheads of sand from Tarapur in Pabna area were illegally going to Majhirghat in Padma Bridge area through Padma river. We got the news and arrested them from the ford of Padma river. In this regard, action will be taken against the bulkheads by verifying the validity of their documents.
Locals said that in violation of the High Court order, sand is being extracted and transported from Rajbari and Pabna areas and is going to different areas using the Rajbari-Gowaland waterway.
On Monday afternoon, 14 bulkheads loaded with sand were on their way to Majhir Ghat. On the way, a team of Daulatdia Naval Police intercepted them and took them to Daulatdia Ghat.
