If dredging project implemented, Payra Port will be most efficient port in country : Mosharraf Hossain MP

Patuakhali-04 constituency MP ABM Mosharraf Hossain said, 'Payra Port had started operational activities, but due to some crises during the interim government, operational activities did not progress quickly.
A project is under implementation to purchase dredging and hopper dredgers. We hope that this project will get ECNEC approval very soon.
There is a huge rush at Chittagong Port and there is also a navigability crisis at Mongla Port. The only safe port is Payra. If the dredging problem can be solved, Payra Port will be the most efficient port. This government is taking all kinds of steps to make Payra Port efficient.' -
He said these words after inspecting the first terminal of Payra Port in Patuakhali on Wednesday afternoon.
Earlier, he met with port officials in a meeting. Present at the meeting were Payra Port Chairman Rear Admiral Syed Saif-ul Islam, Kalapara Upazila Executive Officer Md. Arifuzzaman, Kalapara Upazila BNP President Haji Huamun Sikader, senior leaders of the Upazila BNP and port officials.
