Chittagong North District BNP Joint Convener Engineer Belayet Hossain visited the Jagannath Akhra Temple of Sandwip Municipality on the night of the Navami of Durga Puja.
He arrived at the puja mandap at 11 pm on Saturday and exchanged greetings with the people of the Hindu community in the atmosphere of the puja and joyful moments.
He was accompanied by Municipal BNP Joint Convener Mahbubul Alam Shimul, former UP member of Musapur Union Md. Alim, BNP leader and former UP member Nahid Member, Municipal BNP leader Md. Monir Hossain and many other local leaders and activists.
During the exchange of greetings, Engineer Belayet Hossain said in an emotional speech, I have been a victim of unjust imprisonment, oppression and torture for 15 long years.
Local leaders described his courtesy visit as a shining example of harmony and brotherhood.
