Husband, wife arrested with Yaba tablets in Gazaria

Gazaria Police arrested Ziaul Haque Murad, a top drug dealer in Gazaria Upazila of Munshiganj, and his wife Sonia with Yaba tablets. Two hundred packets of Yaba tablets were seized from them.
They were arrested during a raid at their house in Baluakandi Kazi Para of the upazila at 1:30 pm on Tuesday. The arrested Murad is the son of the deceased Ikramul Haque of Kazi Para.
Locals said that drug dealer Murad has been selling drugs in the area for a long time. This is leading the youth towards a dark path. Locals applauded the police operation and urged them to continue.
OC of Gazaria Police Station Md. Anwar Alam Azad said, "Based on a secret tip-off, a police team including Inspector (Investigation) Shahidul Islam conducted a raid and arrested Murad and his wife along with 200 packets of Yaba tablets. There are multiple cases against Murad in various police stations across the country including Gazaria Police Station. A case has been registered against the arrested couple under the Narcotics Control and Prevention Act."
