Human chain protesting nationwide killings, child abuse, rape, mob violence in Satkhira

A youth-led human chain protest against child abuse, rape and mob violence across the country has been held in Satkhira Sadar Upazila.
A human chain was held at 10 am on Sunday at the PN School ground adjacent to PTI in Satkhira Sadar, organized by Activista Satkhira and implemented by the non-governmental development organization Cido, in collaboration with ActionAid Bangladesh, consisting of members of youth organizations, young volunteers, social and human rights activists, civil society representatives, networks, journalists, and other organizations.
Taking the theme of "Justice, not violence" forward, Activista Satkhira organized a human rights campaign, and representatives from District Harmony and Security Committee, Youth Alliance Network, Cido, Swadesh, Pragati, Satkhira District Citizens Committee, Human Rights Culture Foundation, BD Clean, VBD, JDF, Disabled Rehabilitation Welfare Association, journalists and other organizations participated in the manhunt.
Ensuring the life, dignity, security and fundamental rights of the people is essential for establishing a peaceful, humane, democratic and just state. However, incidents such as murder, torture, rape, violence against women and children and taking the law into one's own hands through mob formation create anxiety and insecurity in the society.
In this context, the youth have an important role to play. The youth will not only protest against injustice, but will also play an active role in protecting human rights, ensuring the safety of women and children, promoting social harmony, raising awareness, and establishing the rule of law.
To raise public awareness against murder, torture, rape and mob violence. To demand impartial investigation of crimes, trial of the guilty through due legal process and ensuring justice for the victims. To create social awareness to prevent child rape, rumors, incitement, mob lynching and the tendency to take the law into one's own hands.
The human chain activity was to organize a peaceful human chain with the participation of the youth. Display of festoons, placards and banners against murder, torture, rape and mob violence.
