Holy month of Ramadan begins Sunday

Staff Correspondent

The holy month of Ramadan will start on Sunday, March 2, as the crescent moon was sighted in the sky over Bangladesh on Saturday.

The National Moon Sighting Committee, chaired by Religious Affairs Adviser AFM Khalid Hossain, made the announcement at the Islamic Foundation in Dhaka on Saturday.

This decision marks the start of the sacred month, during which Muslims across the country will observe fasting and prayer.

In addition, the holy night of Shab-e-Qadr will be observed on the night of Thursday, March 27.

This significant night, known for its spiritual importance, is a time for heightened devotion and prayer for Muslims.
