Due to the arbitrariness of Fakir Abdul Quader, the head teacher of Goaland Ideal High School in Rajbari, 25 teachers-employees of that institution have been deprived of salary for 4 months since last July.

He has demanded about 6 lakh rupees equivalent to one month from the teachers and employees to reduce the salary. In this regard, the victims filed a complaint with the Goland Upazila Executive Officer and the District and Upazila Secondary Education Officer on November 20 seeking redressal.

According to the complaint source, the president of the managing committee of Goland Ideal High School under MPO, Vir Muktijodha Fakir Abdul Jabbar, resigned on July 6 due to physical illness. As a result, a total of 25 teachers-employees of the general and vocational branches of that school are not able to withdraw the salaries and allowances of the government part of 4 months from July to October this year. As a result, they are spending inhuman days with their families.

In this regard, the teachers came to know through the Goland Upazila Nirbahi Officer that the president's resignation letter was not accepted by the education board. So the previous committee is in place.

However, when they requested the headmaster of the school to sign the salary bill, he called a meeting and demanded 1 month's salary (about 6 lakhs) from all the teachers and staff. He then offered to sign the pay bill.

But when they refused this proposal, the head teacher Fakir Abdul Quader started different kinds of excuses without signing the salary bill.

Meanwhile, in the meeting of the school management committee on November 16, the president and upazila secondary education officer repeatedly requested the head teacher and despite the latest instructions, he refused to sign the salary and allowance bill.

Sadhan Kumar Saha, assistant headmaster of the school, said that he is suffering from various complex diseases. But it means that you are not able to take the medicine according to the instructions given by the doctor. Not able to meet other basic needs of the family. Market shopkeepers don't want to pay the balance anymore. You can die of stroke at any time.

Assistant teacher Deepak Kumar said, his three children study in college-university schools. For the last 4 months I am not able to meet their education expenses including maintenance.

A religious teacher named Md Abdullah said in an emotional voice that he has no other source of income other than teaching. He is living inhumanely with his family. He has become burdened with debt. He could not buy meat for the last 4 months in front of his wife and children. I can't accept this pain.

A teacher named Deepali Roy said that both husband and wife are working in this school. Their eldest son is studying in Rajshahi University of Science and Technology (RUET). But as our salary is stopped, besides us, our talented son is also suffering. Due to which we have given a written complaint to the Upazila Nirbahi Officer. We want all our fair salaries as soon as possible.

Fakir Abdul Quader, Headmaster of Goalando Ideal High School, was contacted on the phone about this and he got angry after being identified as a journalist. Without giving a chance to say anything, he said, "Daulatdia Ghat, including the whole country, does not see them with their eyes, they saw only me, so they cut off the connection".

Upazila Secondary Education Officer Masudur Rahman said that it is very sad that the teachers and employees are not getting their salaries for 5 months. Based on the complaint, the Ujella Executive Officer has assigned me and the Social Service Officer to investigate and submit a report. The head teacher of the school is in Dhaka. He will actually investigate and submit a report.

Upazila executive officer. Zakir Hossain said, I contacted the DG of the Education Department after hearing the issue of non-payment of teachers verbally. He assured me that the resignation of the President of Ideal High School was not accepted. He remains in office and can sign pay bills. After I told this matter to the president, he signed the salary bill. But the Headmaster does not. Based on the complaints of the teachers, I have formed a two-member investigation committee. Further action will be taken in this regard after receiving the investigation report.

In this context, Goland Ideal High School managing committee president Fakir Abdul Jabbar said, "I have spoken to the headmaster and he is in Dhaka, the problem will be solved only when he returns."
