Christmas, the biggest religious festival of Christians, was celebrated in a grand manner in Uttar Kuchaithol (Shilua) Khasi Punji of Juri Upazila of Moulvibazar with religious solemnity and festive atmosphere.

On this occasion, an interesting cultural program was held with the participation of the youth of Uttar Kuchaithol Khasi Punji.

On Wednesday evening, the Christmas celebration ceremony was held at Uttar Kuchaithal Khasi Punji of Goalbari Union of the upazila.

Presided over by the Headman (Mantri) of Uttar Kuchaithal Khasi Punji Asperles Pohlong and conducted by the Joint General Secretary of Upazila Hindu Buddhist Christian Unity Council Michael Nongrum spoke as the chief guest were Juri Upazila Administrator and Upazila Nirbahi Officer Bablu Sutradhar.

Present as special guests were Chairman of Goalbari Union Parishad (UP) Abdul Qayyum, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Juri Police Station Murshedul Alam Bhuiyan, General Secretary of Press Club Saiful Islam Sumon, Upazila Hindu Buddhist Christian Unity Council President Arun Chondra Dash, Joint General Secretary Pinku Dash, Juri Police Station Sub-Inspector (SI) Pankaj Dash, Noyabazar Government Primary School Head Teacher Ajay De Ashu, Govindpur Government Primary School Head Teacher Tapas Kanti Roy, Juri Government Model High School Retired Teacher Dhananjay Dey, UP Member Abdur Razzaq, Student Leader Juber Ahmed and others.

At this time, under the initiative of Ashok Ranjan Pal, chairman of Gram Unnayan Karjakram (GRAUK), a loan servicing institution, winter clothes were distributed among 30 families as Christmas gifts Juri Upazila Administrator and Upazila Nirbahi Officer Bablu Sutradhar.
