Bangladesh Ansar and Village Defense Force's 2023-24 fiscal year 'General Ansar Basic Training (Male) 1st Phase' Course Concluding Parade was held at Bangladesh Ansar and VDP Academy, Shafipur, Gazipur on Sunday, says a press release.

Md. Mostafizur Rahman, BPAA, Senior Secretary, Public Security Department, Ministry of Home Affairs, attended the parade as the chief guest.

Additional Director General of Bangladesh Ansar and Village Defense Force, Brigadier General Md. Nazim Uddin, BAM, was present as a special guest at this time. Acting Commandant of Ansar and VDP Academy Md Nurul Hasan Faridi, Deputy Director General and other senior officers of the force, employees, Ansar-VDP youths were also present on the occasion.

The parade started at Yad Ali Parade Ground at 9:00 am. The chief guest arrived through the western end of the field in the security cordon of the cavalry team. He visited each contingent in a well-decorated open green jeep draped in a red carpet. Later, Parade Commander Deputy Director Md Sefaul Hossain led the parade past 6 (six) rows and greeted the Chief Guest.

The trainees took an oath to dedicate their lives to the service of the country and the people of Bangladesh by raising their hands towards their respective scriptures with a firm spirit and sticking to the constitution of Bangladesh.

The chief guest handed over prizes to the best trainees among them. Out of a total of 793 trainees, Md. Iqbal Hossain won the award for excellence in drill, Md. Abu Naeem Sohan was the best in firing, and Md. Noman Bakaul won the award for the smartest trainee.

General Ansar members joined after training and serve in various important public and private institutions including airports, seaports, EPZs, metrorails, hospitals, five-star hotels, banks and financial institutions. At present, ordinary Ansar members are contributing to the public security of the country by joining more than 5,000 institutions across the country.

Also, general Ansar members are responsible for maintaining public safety and law and order in all levels of local government elections including national parliament elections, various religious festivals, New Year celebrations, shopping malls, trade fairs and book fairs, railway stations, traffic control, specialized hospitals, etc.

Bangladesh Ansar and Gram Defense Force conducted "Operation Secure Travel" in 2023-24 to play a vital role in ensuring smooth movement of people by road, sea and rail. In particular, he worked tirelessly day and night to ensure the safety of the railway line in thick fog and Konkan winter. In this, ordinary Ansar members performed their duties bravely.

In addition, in the 12th National Assembly elections, general Ansar members have earned a wide reputation by working to protect the polling stations, electoral materials and the security of voters.
